Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 camera how it work in low light

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 camera samples show off

Xiaomi continues to tease its imminent smartphone, the Mi Mix 3 and has now provided some camera samples. Xiaomi co-founder and president Lin Bin shared the low-light shots on Chinese social media website Weibo today (via PlayfulDroid) ahead of the phone’s come out next week.

The shots disclose how the Mi Mix 3 handles background and forefront focusing in low-light conditions. Night-time photography is a passionately contested battleground for Android OEMs and they frequently try to outdo each other in this space — more-so than numerous other areas of smartphone design (such as display resolution or thinness, though these were boxed over in the recent past).

However, these first Mi Mix 3 shots aren’t mainly impressive. They’re fairly bright and detailed, but the contrast isn’t responsibility a good enough job to really separate the glass and its liquid (wine?) from the background.

They’re not bad, but we’ve been ruined by low-light photography on Android lately — take a look at the snap underneath taken on the new Pixel 3, for example.

It’s hard going up against Google because it grows unfathomably ingenious smartphone camera tech, but the Mi Mix 3 and Pixel 3 are similar, modern Android phones. Bin may have been highlighting the focus abilities rather than low-light, but nevertheless, the shots as they appear are underwhelming.

In associated news, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has also looked in a TV spot. YouTube channel Tech News uploaded the footage and while we don’t distinguish where it originated, it seems to an authorized Xiaomi video. Its main focus is the Mi Mix 3’s sliding body.

We later learned more about the Mi Mix 3’s screen too: it’s impending with a Full HD+ (2340 x 1080) OLED display and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. We also heard that the phone will come with a whopping 10GB of RAM.
