Motorola will launch four Moto G series devices next year,
according to reliable leaker Evan Blass. In a tweet, the tipster said the
company will publication standard, Play, Plus, and Power versions of the phone.
The next entry in the Moto G series is predictable to be the Moto G7 family.
The existing Moto G6 line-up contains of three models: The
Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus. Of these phones, the Moto G6 Play is
the economic model, the Moto G6 is the standard entry, while the Moto G6 Plus
has a little better specs and a larger screen than the other two versions.
We don’t recognize for sure what would distinguish the Moto
G7 Plus and Power models, if Motorola is indeed following the leaked naming agreement.
The company has previously used the Power branding for 2016’s Moto E3 Power, which
stood out from the standard Moto E3 by present a larger battery and more
memory. More recently, the Motorola One and One Power were also unconfined,
with the latter model offering a superior battery too. So, at the very least,
we should imagine longer durability in theory.
While originally praised as offering budget smartphones with
decent specs, the Moto G series has come under pressure newly as other inexpensive
yet powerful phones have begun to flood the market. Maybe Motorola thinks that
by releasing four devices it will have a phone for everybody. However, there is
continuously the risk that releasing such a big line-up will end up confusing customers.
Back in August, there were propositions that Motorola would
only publicize regular and Plus versions of the Moto G7. This is roughly the
company also did with the Moto G5 line-up. However, Blass’s leak proposes that
this was never the plan, or that the company had a change of heart.
