Now OnePlus 6 has just become a major over-the-air (OTA) update for OxygenOS, which carries a number of innovative features. OxygenOS 5.1.6 introduces the much expected ‘Selfie Portrait’ feature, which the company had assured when the phone was launched. Earlier only the rear-camera had a Portrait mode selection. OnePlus is also rolling out nearly bug fixes for the phone with the new-fangled OxygenOS update.

Additional new features in the OxygenOS 5.1.6 bring up-to-date, including Idea 4G VoLTE support for India users, bug fix for steadiness issues with dual-SIM cards, improves call superiority and will show battery proportion in the position bar view on the screen. It also comes with selection for scheduling DND time, optimizations for power ingesting and system stability. The OnePlus 6 will also get a dual-4G choice in SIM and network settings through the new update.

The major highpoint of the OnePlus 6 update is the selfie representation. We got the update earlier and have had a chance to assessment out the Portrait mode selfies. Here’s what we believed based on our experience so far.

OnePlus 6: What’s this Portrait Selfie?

Portrait selfies appear to be the new temper on all smartphones, irrespective of their price. Smartphone makers are carrying this feature for Portraits to the forward-facing camera and in most cases, this is driven by software The Portrait feature, is where an article is in sharp focus and the outline is blurred to generate a ‘Bokeh’ like effect.

We have got Portrait feature was originally limited to smartphones with dual-rear cameras, where a mixture of a telephoto and wide-angle lens or an RGB and colorless sensor are used. With selfies though, not all players are contribution dual cameras, particularly on the front, and instead the ‘Portrait mode’ is motivated by software. This is the case with the OnePlus 6 as well. With the new update, you can income a selfie now and blur out the break of the people or the background.

OnePlus 6: How does the Portrait selfie work out?

The camera has a Video, Photo and Representation mode. In the Portrait mode, you can now turn on the selfie camera as healthy.  When creating a depth consequence, remember, it will only work if you have a background which the camera can blur out. For example, if you take a selfie against the wall, the depth consequence will not be so protruding or sharp. However, if you have something to blur out, the OnePlus 6’s forward-facing camera does an attractive good job.

The Selfie Portrait are high-pitched, there’s enough feature in the photos and the color reproduction is equally accurate. But, the camera’s software does brawl with edges when creating this Portrait result. For instance, in some of the selfies, my hair, the edges of ears, etc are a bit blurred and it does not change to the outline of the person completely right.

So how various people can fit into these OnePlus 6 ‘Portrait selfies’? If two people are stand-up really close and achieve to get the angle right, the selfie camera will not blur another person out, though it does fight with edges. If the second person is at a distance, the OnePlus 6 selfie camera will blur them out in the Portrait method. One thing I will say is that the blur result does seem a bit fake, especially two people are in the photos. It is obsessed by software, so this does look odd in about photos. If the second person it as a distance, the OnePlus 6 selfie camera resolve blur them out in the Portrait mode.
But when it comes to selfies of one single individual, the Portrait mode brings quite well. It manages to get the outline mostly accurate, given this is a software driven feature. Hopefully, OnePlus will remain to make software developments to its selfie Portrait mode in the future and try and expand on sharpening the specifics.
