iPhone X vs. Galaxy Note 8
Both the Galaxy Note 8 and the iPhone X have dual cameras on the rear, giving users a 2X optical zoom and the ability to capture a depth-of-field effect known as bokeh. The dual cameras on the phones are very similar - both featuring two 12-megapixel sensors, autofous, optical image stabilisation and LED dual tone flash.
Display
Galaxy
Note 8 has a bit large 6.3-inch display
than the iPhone X which has a display of 5.8-inch. Both use OLED technology,
though Samsung's screen is curved at the edges offering a more immersive
effect.
Stylus
Samsung's Note series
includes an S Pen that slides into the bottom of the phone. Samsung fans love
this for taking notes and sketching. The iPhone X doesn't
come with any sort of stylus and there doesn't seem to be demand from Apple's
fan base.
Water Resistant
iPhone X and Galaxy
Note 8 both are resistant to water and dust. So customer need not to worry
about a dip in the pool.
Biometrics
Galaxy Note 8 has
features like fingerprint reader, an iris scanner and face detection, all of
which can be used to unlock the device. The iPhone X offers a 3-D face scanner
called Face ID. Fingerprint reader is
completely gone and there’s no iris scanner. Apple promises that Face ID is
much more secure than Touch ID, giving its 3-D face tech an advantage over the
Note 8.
Wireless Charging
Wireless Charging
Finally Apple is adding wireless charging to the iPhone this
year. It is using “Qi.”Unfortunately,
wireless charging is pretty slow, which is why Samsung spent several years making
its own advancements with the technology.
